Galegov lekarstvennaya.Opisanie. Perennial herb. Stems numerous erect, branched. Leaves compound, imparipinnate with stipules. Stipules broadly, semisagittate, acute. The flowers are pale blue or pale violet papilionaceous, gathered in large on long peduncles axillary racemes. Fruits - upright naked-seeded beans. Seeds greenish-yellow, oblong. Plant height 40-120 cm
Flowering time. June-August.
Habitat. In wet meadows, along rivers, on the edge of a forest.
The applied part. Grass
Collection time. June-August, during flowering.
Chemical composition. The leaves contain Galegov glycoside saponins. The plant is poisonous.
Action. Diuretic, diaphoretic, molokogonnoe, antihelminthic. Alkaloid galegin lowers blood sugar.
Application. With diabetes, hemorrhoids.
Method of application.
1. 1 teaspoon dried herbs to 1 cup Galegov boiling water, in heat 1 hour. Strain and drink 1 - 2 tablespoons 3 times a day.
Note. The plant is poisonous, requires care in application.
