Cocklebur common
Cocklebur common: Description. Annual gray-green plant with rough, hairy stem. The leaves are coarsely toothed with sharp okruglolopastnye blades and cordate, green above, pale green below. Fruits - oval, prehensile-repi achenes. Plant height 30-100 cm
Flowering time. July-August.
Habitat. On wet sandy soil on river banks and ditches, on vacant lots, garbage places.
The applied part. The leaves, stems, fruits, roots.
Collection time. Grass harvested in July and August during flowering. Fruits - in September and October. Root - in late autumn.
Cocklebur common: The chemical composition. The whole plant contains a lot of iodine cocklebur, besides alkaloids, vitamin C, fatty oils, resins, glycosides. The plant is poisonous.
Cocklebur common: Action. Antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, diaphoretic, antipyretic, sedative. Helps to reduce enlarged thyroid glands with goiter.
Cocklebur common: Application. The whole plant is used for diarrhea and bloody diarrhea (dysentery), with goiter. Juice drink with asthma, hives 15-20 drops to receive 4-5 times a day. The whole plant is used for skin diseases within and externally (with eczema, herpes fungal infections). Cocklebur also used for rheumatism.
Method of application.
1. 1 tablespoon herbs cocklebur in 2 cups boiling water, 1 hour in a thermos - the daily dose.
Note. Used with caution. For exterior use juice can sometimes cause a burning sensation.
